Years ago, I moved from a small town in Missouri to New York City to pursue a career in dance. Pursuing a career in show business or the arts is equally as daft as spending your hard earned fifty bucks on the powerball jackpot. You’re pretty unlikely to come out a winner. But before I went on the exciting and consistently bumpy journey of the performing arts and the show biz, where “no” is thrown around as often as a hacky sack in the 80’s, I was lucky enough to get my education at Stephens College, a liberal arts woman’s college where “yes” was my normal. I never heard “No, you can’t”, I only heard “Yes, you can”.
