Stages of the Speaking Process

In today’s episode, I’m so excited to be deconstructing the speaking process I use to take big stages. As a part of this journey, I’m sharing with you my recent experience speaking at Giovanni Marsico’s Changemaker event in Toronto.

Giovanni is the founder of Archangel and he asked me to take his stage on September 11th at their three day event. It was the first event they did live in almost two and a half years.

Of course, I was an absolute yes and in this episode, I’m going to share with you my process for everything that happened after that yes, so you can get a sense of all that I do — and don’t do — in order to get ready for a big talk.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

  • Why I was an immediate yes to this particular speaking event
  • The questions you need to ask in the first conversation you have with an event organizer so you know you’re ready to take their stage
  • The importance of using every available minute you are given for your talk
  • Being a vessel sharing what you know to be true with your audience
  • What it means to be in a continual state of readiness for the next stage you’re going to take
