Show Summary:
This week, I am being interviewed by my dear friend, mentee, and social media manager, Emma Cullen, as I allow her to ask me anything.
We start our conversation in a very natural place for us — the topic of mentorship. I began mentoring Emma when she was 17 years old. She knew she wanted to be an actor — which she currently is — and her parents brought me in as her coach as she prepared for college auditions.
When we started our mentorship, we met weekly in NYC, and the rest is history! I know you’ll love the questions Emma brings to the table today.
In this episode, we talk about:
- What it means to mentor someone and what it means to be mentored
- One of the mantras I live by and how it has helped me get where I am today
- How I became a high performer and what I do to maintain this — including using tools like a bed of nails, compression masks, an Oura ring, and drinking a gallon of water a day
- Why I’m okay with being unreasonable and pushy — and why you should be, too
- How I learned to put my ego aside to serve my audience, my community, and the world
